The end of story gathering
It is the end of February and we have now finished gathering tree stories for the Tree Charter campaign. Thanks to everyone- for supporting the campaign so far!
We will now be analysing the stories collected and, with the expert knowledge of our60 partner organisations, we’ll pull out the common the themes to write the content of the Tree Charter.
But there is still a lot happening for you to get involved with!
The Tree Charter Principles
We will be announcing the Principles of the Tree Charter on 27 March 2017 and the total number of stories gathered.
Throughout February, we will continue to raise awareness of the campaign through our website and on Facebook and Twitter. We would love it if you could tweet and post about the announcement on the 27th March to all of your followers.
Once we’ve announced the Principles, the website will change. We will be asking for signatures of support for the charter from the 27 March onwards, so there will be a special area on the website dedicated to this. We will also be including lots more information about what the Tree Charter will contain when it’s launched on the 6 November 2017.
Signatures of support
From the 27 March, we will be asking you to help us collect signatures of support for the Tree Charter, this activity will continue until the launch on 6 November 2017. The 10 Principles of the Tree Charter are outlined in a special notebook, which will be sent to all of the Charter Branches, with space for signatures.
All we will ask for is a first name and last name. The signature and email address fields of the sheet are optional. For every signature collected, a tree will be planted.
There is a separate way for schools to sign up as a whole to the Tree Charter. If you are interested in working with schools to collect signatures of support, then please email TreeCharter@woodlandtrust.org.uk and we will send you more information.
